Profit & Loss
Income and expense activity across the period you choose.
Company profiles, registers, reconciliation, spreadsheet import, CSV export and six reports — described the way they actually behave, with nothing added that Ledgerlyne cannot do.
Each company profile carries its own chart of accounts, its own registers and its own reports. Choosing a company changes everything you see; nothing is pooled or combined across companies.
You set up the registers you need, then record activity in them. Each entry posts as double-entry debits and credits against your chart of accounts, and amounts are stored as exact integer cents rather than floating-point numbers, so a balance does not drift by a penny.

Transactions come from you or from an import. Ledgerlyne has no bank feed, so nothing appears in a register that you did not put there.
Reconciliation in Ledgerlyne is the ordinary bookkeeping exercise: take the statement, clear what appears on it, and see what is left over.
Enter the statement's ending balance and date for the register you are reconciling.
Work down the register marking the transactions that appear on the statement.
Ledgerlyne shows what is still outstanding and what the difference is, so you can find the missing or duplicated entry.
Once the cleared items and the statement balance meet, the reconciliation is recorded against the register.
Bring existing history in from a CSV or Excel file rather than retyping it.
Import is a file you provide. It is not a bank connection, and Ledgerlyne cannot fetch transactions from a financial institution.
Send data out of Ledgerlyne as CSV through Apple's share sheet — to email, to Files, or to whatever app you use next.
Each report is assembled from the same double-entry records you recorded, so any figure traces back to individual transactions.
Income and expense activity across the period you choose.
Assets, liabilities and equity as of a date.
Every account's balance with debits and credits side by side, and the two totals meeting.
Every posting, account by account, in order.
A summary view to hand to whoever prepares your return. Ledgerlyne does not file anything for you.
A check on the internal consistency of the book's own records.

Because Ledgerlyne will not record a one-sided entry. A check posts to the expense or asset account and to the register it was written from; a transfer posts to both accounts at once.
One file, opened by the native apps, the Windows desktop app and the browser version. What differs is how each one saves.
The native app is built and awaiting App Store review. It is not on the App Store yet, so there is nothing to download today and no link we could honestly give you.
The subscription is purchased in this app, through Apple.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Setup installer and portable build on the download page. The installers are not code-signed, so SmartScreen warns on first run.
Opens your .ledgerlyne file from your own disk or cloud folder at ledgerlyne.com/app. Chrome and Edge on a computer save back into the file; Safari and Firefox save a copy you replace yourself.
There is no Mac app. We are not going to pretend otherwise. On a Mac, open your book in the browser version — Chrome or Edge there can save straight back into the file.
The browser version opens the same .ledgerlyne file straight off your own disk or cloud folder. Nothing is uploaded to us to make it work, and the two browser families are not equivalent:
Browser access is included in the same subscription at no extra cost. There is no way to buy anything in the browser — the subscription is purchased in the iOS app through Apple.
Ledgerlyne shares a file; it does not stream a live database between devices.
If you are ever told a save was refused, the fix is on the support page.
This list matters as much as the feature list. If you need one of these, Ledgerlyne is not the right tool and we would rather you knew now.
