Ledgerlyne for Windows.

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Choose the setup installer or the portable build that runs without installing anything. There is no Mac app — on a Mac, open your book in the browser version instead.

Two builds, both current Roughly 87 MB each Not code-signed — SmartScreen will warn you

Setup installer

The normal choice. Installs Ledgerlyne, adds a Start-menu entry, and can be removed later through Windows Settings.

Ledgerlyne-Windows-Setup.exe — about 87 MB, Windows 10/11 64-bit.

Portable build

A single executable that runs where you put it — useful on a machine where you cannot or would rather not install software, or from a USB drive.

Ledgerlyne-Windows-Portable.exe — about 87 MB, Windows 10/11 64-bit.

The Windows installers are not code-signed

Because we have not yet bought a code-signing certificate, Windows SmartScreen shows an “unrecognized app” or “Windows protected your PC” warning the first time you run either download. That warning is about the missing signature, not about anything found in the file.

To continue past it: choose More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather not run unsigned software, use the browser version at ledgerlyne.com/app instead — it installs nothing.

BEFORE YOU START

What you need.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. There is no 32-bit build and no ARM build.
  • A Ledgerlyne subscription. The desktop app does not sell one; it is an in-app purchase in the iPhone and iPad app, which is awaiting App Store review.
  • Sign in with Apple. That is the only sign-in method — there is no email-and-password account.
  • Somewhere to keep your file. A local folder, or a Dropbox or iCloud Drive folder synced to the PC.

After it opens

  1. Sign in with Apple

The same Apple account that owns the book.

  2. Open or create a book

Point Ledgerlyne at an existing .ledgerlyne file, or start a new company profile.

  3. Keep the file where both machines can see it

If you also use an iPhone or iPad, put the file in a folder your storage provider syncs to both.

NO INSTALL AT ALL

Or open your book in a browser.

If you are on a Mac, on a locked-down work computer, or simply do not want to install unsigned software, the browser version is the way in. It reads the same .ledgerlyne file straight off your own disk or cloud folder.

Ledgerlyne in a browser

The browser version opens the same .ledgerlyne file straight off your own disk or cloud folder. Nothing is uploaded to us to make it work, and the two browser families are not equivalent:

  • Chrome or Edge on a computer: you grant access to the file once and the browser saves your changes directly back into it.
  • Safari or Firefox: you can open a book and work in it, but saving produces a downloaded copy that you have to put back over the original yourself.

Browser access is included in the same subscription at no extra cost. There is no way to buy anything in the browser — the subscription is purchased in the iOS app through Apple.

Which one should I use?

  • Windows PC, installing is fine: the setup installer.
  • Windows PC, cannot install: the portable build, or the browser version.
  • Mac: the browser version — Chrome or Edge, so it can save straight back into your file. There is no Mac app.
  • iPhone or iPad: the native app, once it clears App Store review.
WHERE LEDGERLYNE RUNS

All four states, plainly.

COMING TO THE APP STORE iPhone & iPad

The native app is built and awaiting App Store review. It is not on the App Store yet, so there is nothing to download today and no link we could honestly give you.

The subscription is purchased in this app, through Apple.

AVAILABLE NOW Windows desktop

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Setup installer and portable build on the download page. The installers are not code-signed, so SmartScreen warns on first run.

AVAILABLE NOW Any modern browser

Opens your .ledgerlyne file from your own disk or cloud folder at ledgerlyne.com/app. Chrome and Edge on a computer save back into the file; Safari and Firefox save a copy you replace yourself.

DOES NOT EXIST Mac app

There is no Mac app. We are not going to pretend otherwise. On a Mac, open your book in the browser version — Chrome or Edge there can save straight back into the file.
